Sunset Motel

You can tell there’s a lot of personal attention to detail, from the towels being refreshed daily even on a multi day stay (not like a big chain hotel), the binder with lots of room info and local places, and extreme cleanliness this motel was awesome! It’s run by family, which made it feel extra safe for a girl traveling solo. It’s perpendicular to the road making for some very peaceful rooms further in. It’s very close to downtown (five minute walk to several stores) and they just generally have their business down to a science! It really surprised and impressed me and I will be staying here again next time I’m in Murphy! The few downsides are dampness in room as well as slight dating on the building itself (cracks in walls, not airtight doors) but those are understandable with it being a small business. Absolutely worth it and I will be back!

Very nice, clean, cute hotel. The location is great. You can walk to everything. The only thing I would say -and this is no fault of the motel - if you are a light sleeper, you might want to be on the opposite end of the motel, not close to the street.

Spotlessly clean room and outdoor areas, super friendly and helpful staff. Lady at counter recommended us the perfect restaurant for dinner. Could not have been more pleased with our stay here. Highly recommend it for anyone else.

Cool, old school motel. Everything looked and smelled clean. I really liked the framed photos of vintage cars on the walls. We’ll definitely come back sometime.

Fantastic property, fully remodeled in a cool retro style. It’s an older property, but it has a modern boutique feel, it’s clean, well maintained and thoughtfully decorated. Waters and a small snack selection in the room. Safe area, short walk to the old town square, really friendly front desk, less than 10 minutes to the casino. Would happily stay here again, deserves every star.

Came here with a group of 8 riders on a multiday motorcycle tour. The person at check in couldn't have been more gracious and helpful. We arrived later than expected and she let us know what local dining options were still serving. Easy walk to downtown for bars and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. This is not a luxury property. It is a motel in the classic sense. A small bag of snacks was provided which included some fruit, a couple of small muffins and granola bars, which in the morning, were greatly appreciated. As a final touch, the motel provided towels to dry off our bikes as it had rained during the night. Very thoughtful! Highly recommended for someone passing through this beautiful part of the country.

Older but well maintained and clean roadside motel adjacent to downtown. Great place to stay and walk to downtown for their Friday night activities.

What a gem! My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and had a great time in Murphy. The rooms are clean, smell fresh and are reasonably priced. The motel is boutique and super cute. There is a covered porch you can hang out on and relax and the continental breakfast was unexpected and perfect for us. It is family run and I talked to the owner for a bit who was super friendly and helpful. Such an easy walk to downtown, just walk out your door and you are at restaurants and stores in minutes.

This sweet motel is an absolute gem! It's located within walking distance of the downtown shopping and eateries. The vibe is very retro which fits the wonderfully remodeled inn. Our room was very quiet, even with neighbors. We had assigned parking right outside the door. The room was immaculate with a very comfortable bed, a table with two chairs, and a large, flat screen TV. The AC worked great and there was a ceiling fan to keep the air moving. There was bottled water in the refrigerator and a daily breakfast basket with tangerines, bananas, blueberry muffins, and granola bars. Each room had two chairs and a table just outside as well as a firepit with chairs next to the parking lot. Our beds were made and fresh towels were delivered daily. On top of all that, the price is the best in town! Kudos to Ashley and her staff for a great place to stay. We'll be back!

Just OK. The room was clean and bed was comfortable but the WiFi was awful. We stayed in the first room by the office. Step outside and the signal was 5*. In the room though the wifi could not be found. Second, the attempt to be retro was half-hearted. The cast iron tub was nice though! If you don't expect too much, this is just the place for you.
